Blast from 2012 - a Moxon Bench

Another blast from the past. As you may have noticed, I use handcut dovetails in many of my projects. A Moxon vise is a must have for dovetails. It's nice to have a higher bench for the vise too soooo.... I built a bench around a Moxon Vise. Like the Roubo bench I used 6x6 douglas fir.

Prepping pieces for the top
Top Glue up
Flattening the top (much easier with my Roubo)
Flattening the bottom of the top
Milled the base parts for the bench
Working on the chop of the moxon vise
Installing the Moxon Vise on the top (you are looking at the bottom)
Tenons for the base
Mortise for the base
Fitted mortise and tenon
One side done
Base dry fit
Hand tool work produces a lot of sweat...and shavings
Glue up of the base
Cutting Tenons to seat the top
Fitting Top to base
Gluing top to base
Finished Moxon Bench
