Blast from 2022 - A Custom Desk for Mitchell

Another Blast from the Past - Mitchell is into technology and the original desk (see previous post) wasn't big enough for his equipment so he asked me to build him a desk. We talked about his needs and he locked onto my desk (see different previous post) with some changes. He wanted to house his large computer case, at least one UPS and have no taper on the top (for clamps and such).

Basic sketch for desk
Lots of large wood for the frame. Cutting to size
Components for desk frame
These are the frame pieces for the left side of the desk
Left side glue up
Right side is simpler and being glued up
Stained for that industrial steel tube look. Took a few coats
Frame together and waiting for top
Prepping material for top and shelves
Glue up of top
Flattening of top
Adding power strip conduits
Bottom shelves added
Finish on top
Holes for electrical gromets
Top installed
Power strips installed
Working on drawer
Dovetails, of course
Drawer done, ready for front
Storage helpers in drawer
All set up

As you can see, Mitchell has all his tech gear loaded up. He has upgraded a bunch since this picture and now has a massive curved display (still 3 total displays). It's quite the command center. Especially with his Superman chair (can't see the logo under him).
