Blast from 2020 - Hand Crank Drill Press

Another Blast from the Past - I don't buy many older/used tools and the story behind this drill press is why.

I purchased the drill press on-line, getting caught up in the whole doing everything without power. I dismantled the drill press and cleaned up rust, painted and even got my brother (a machinist) to make a warn out part and then reassembled. It worked flawlessly.
The problem that I didn't understand when I got the drill press is that it is technically a machinist drill press and the depth of cut rate is monstrously slow and really unusable in woodworking. I eventually donated it to Pratt Fine Arts Center where I hope the metal working shop has put it to good use.
